Baird's Tapir

Tapirs are large brown or black mammals. Their throat and chest are often a lighter color. They can be from 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 feet in length.
Tapirs are herbivores and eat leaves, twigs, grass, fruit and some seeds.
They live in wet forest areas at all elevations and can be active both day and night.
