The jaguar is a very large cat with a yellowish coat that has black spots. They can be from 3 1/2 to 6 feet in length plus a long tail.

These cats will hunt for peccary or deer, but will also eat monkeys, birds and lizards. They are mainly active at night.

The jaguar is listed as an endangered species.
